Origin Liberty - Restaurant
Stroudfoot designed the original Origin restaurant, and Chef Claudio Aprile brought the firm back to apply thier unique design aesthetic to his second location in Toronto's Liberty Village. Origin Liberty restaurant (171 East Liberty St.) has design elements shared with the original, and again, Stroudfoot playfully celebrates the history of the building itself. In this case, a female-run machine gun factory during World War II. There are factory-inspired materials like concrete and steel, balanced with warm heritage wood, textiles and a bright Bren-gun chandelier. Stroudfoot fabricated all of the custom tables, lighting, steel-panel artwork and wrought-iron fence lightboxes.
